Health Equalities Group

Robin was employed to develop a coronary heart disease prevention programme in Merseyside in 2002. He established the Heart of Mersey charity in 2005 and was Chief Executive from then until 2016. The charity expanded its aims during this time - and its geographical remit working now nationally as well as internationally - becoming a public health charity and changing its name to the Health Equalities Group (HEG).

Working with colleagues, Robin established HEG’s Healthy Stadia and Food Active programmes. Robin now works with HEG as a consultant and is the charity’s Honorary Director of Research.

Robin has led the development and implementation of Food Active’s Healthy Weight Declaration and, in this capacity, has supported more than 30 local authorities across England (including Bristol, Durham County, Lancashire, Leeds, Leicester, Southampton, and Sunderland) to develop whole systems approaches to building healthy weight environments.
